Our eye tests usually last about 30 minutes but we will advise you if you require any extra specific tests and how long these may take.

This is a detailed scan that allows us to see behind the eye. Ocular Coherence Tomography is similar to an ultrasound scan but uses  light rather than sound to look through the layers of the retina, giving us a 3D view of the inside of your eye. 

A child may not realise if their vision is not clear – they assume the way they see is normal. Therefore regular eye examinations are advised for all children under the age of 16 at least once a year.

Myopia or short sightedness is more common now in children due to various factors including computer use. Myopia management is about trying to stop a young person becoming more short sighted using special spectacle lenses or contact lenses. Ask us for more details.

Home visits are FREE on the NHS if you are over 60 years of age and are unable to leave your home without assistance.
